Pirates hold Winnebago Scoreless

by Thadd Tullberg

October 12, 2008

On Friday the 10th, the Emerson-Hubbard Pirates headed to Winnebago to play the Indians. The first half of the game was slow. The Pirates seamed to be having some trouble moving the ball, and our defense had some trouble trying to defend against the Indians passing game. The only touchdown in the first half of the game went to the Pirates on a 3-yard touchdown run by Dillion Martin. The 2-point conversion pass attempt was incomplete.

During half time the Pirates realized that they needed to start playing better football. As they sat there and figured out how to better themselves in the second half they began to get the motivation they needed. After a speech from Coach Wiseman and Coach Hackbart the Pirates finally got the motivation they needed and headed back out on the field to play the last half of the football game.

The second half belonged to the Pirates. The Pirates kicked off to the Indians to start the second half of the game. The Pirates stopped the Indians and the Pirates offense took the field. The Pirates were unstoppable, scoring 31-points in the third quarter alone. Starting with a 32-yard touchdown run by Travis Albrecht and ending with a 6-yard touchdown run by Dillion Martin. So at the end of the third quarter it was Pirates=37 and the Indians=0.

In the fourth quarter the Pirates held the Indians to no score, while putting 13 more points on the board. The first touchdown was by Max Renning on a 5-yard run. The extra point kick attempt was no good. The second and final touchdown of the game was by Scotty Servine on a 1-yard run.

The final score was 50-0.
