Mrs. Burback - Biography

by Lindsey Burback

November 24, 2007

Welcome to my web page!

I’m guessing that if you are visiting my site you are here to learn more about me, my schedule, or other information.

My contact information is located on the main page.  Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions you might have.

I was born and raised in Hemingford, Nebraska.  My parents are Tim and Cindy Lanik of Hemingford.  They are both teachers in the small farming community and they both seem to love their jobs.  I guess my brother, Nathan, and I got the desire to teach from our parents.  I have one older brother, Nate, who teaches Math in Alliance and he is married to Jenny who also teaches in Hemingford.  Nate and Jenny are about to have their first child this February and I can’t wait to be an aunt.

I graduated from Hemingford High School in 2001.  During high school I found myself involved in athletics and organizations that kept me busy and motivated to work hard.  After high school I attended Peru State College for two years.  I participated in basketball while at Peru, but I found myself wanting to be closer to home, so in the fall of 2003 I started attending Chadron State College.  I graduated from Chadron State, in 2005, with a degree in Business Education.

I met my husband, Jeff, when I was a junior at Chadron State.  We got married on August 13, 2005 in Alliance.  We moved to Gering, Nebraska, Jeff worked in insurance and I was a substitute teacher.  In March of 2006 Jeff got a great job opportunity in Sioux City, IA.  We moved ourselves to Sioux City, and within a week I received the offer for a teaching job at Emerson-Hubbard for the 2006-2007 school year.

Jeff and I really have enjoyed living in Sioux City and I am enjoying my work at Emerson-Hubbard.  I currently teach business, work with the technology, and help coach volleyball and track.

Life has been keeping me busy.  In my free time I enjoy golfing, traveling, and playing with my wonderful beagle, Bogey.

Jeff and I are expecting a baby girl in April of 2008.  We are very excited/nervous for our first child, but we are definitely enjoying the preparation phase.
