My name is Deb Snyder. I was born in Fort Collins, CO a “few” years ago. I grew up in NE Nebraska. Most of my early life was centered in the Dixon and Allen area. I graduated from Allen Consolidated Schools in 1975. If you can do math, you’ll be able to figure out how many years a few years would be for my age now. Oops! I graduated from Wayne State College in 2004 with my degree in education. I am attending graduate classes right now and in 2008 I’ll have my master’s degree in Curriculum and Assessment.
I began my teaching career here in Emerson. The first two years I taught third grade. I am currently teaching fifth grade. Some of my students this year were in my very first class. I already knew some of them pretty well, so they don’t get away with as much.
I have two sons. They are each married and I have two granddaughters and a grandson. My oldest son teaches in Elkhorn, NE and my youngest works at Michaels Foods in Wakefield. I also live in Wakefield. My house is just a little over a block away from the school there. So I never leave the voices of children far behind.
I have many hobbies. I love to craft, sew, cook, play games and spend time with family and friends. I am constantly learning and hope to never stop.
