Mr. Griesel attended Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City. He graduated from Briar Cliff College. He received his master's degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. He has taught at St. Michael's School in Sioux City, Walthill Public High School, St. Mary's High School in Remsen, Iowa, Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, Iowa. He came to Emerson-Hubbard in 2004. He teaches earth science, physical science, chemistry, and physics. He is a co-moderator for the Senior Class, and co-moderator for the Science Club.
Mr. Griesel lives in Sioux City. He is married with five children, all boys. Eddie is 25 and married, Joey is 23, Gabe is 12, Luke is 8, and Matthew is 7. Eddie and Joey both live in Des Moines. The three younger boys were adopted. They are children Mr. Griesel and his wife had taken care of through foster care before their adoptions.
