Band Students Participate in Pep band, WSC Honor Band

by Dale Lussier

January 28, 2008

It was a busy week for the Emerson-Hubbard High School Band, with the USD and WSC honor bands only days apart. The band also played pep band for the Girls basketball game against Allen last Thursday. "It was fun," says Noah, a saxophone player,"it is hard work though, the percussion section works really hard to keep us all on beat, and you can tell that they really like to play We Got the Beat, it sounds amazing."

Some of the students in the band attended either USD or WSC Honor band this week, unfortunately, none of these students could be reached for comment.

The WSC Honor band is one of the toughest to get into because of the audition material that is provided.  Students from Emerson get in every year because of the talent they have with their instruments.

Meanwhile, while the band has been practicing, the choir has also been working on several songs to sing at the next school concert. We will have more developments on this next week.
