This week, we have some information on what the band is doing during its practices. This week, the band has been doing sectionals. Sectionals are when the band breaks up into different sections and runs through the song to see if there are any trouble spots in the songs. These sections are normally divided into the brass section, the woodwind section, and the percussion section, but it is possible for them to be divided into individual instruments. The current band schedule has one section playing everyday, then on the fourth day everyone plays together. "I don't really like it," says Trent, a percussionist. "Its hard for the drummers to play by themselves, with no support from the band. But it is a good way to see where people are having trouble in the song." The band will keep practicing like this until they go to concert and play the song for a live audience.
