Lady Pirates' Season Comes To An End In Loss To Allen
by Caitlin Casey
November 03, 2009
The Lady Pirates played their last game of the season on November 2 against the Lady Eagles of Allen. After a solid win over the Omaha Nation Chiefs the ladies took the court once again in hopes of advancing to the next night. Things were looking good for the Pirates as they got an early lead in the first set and never looked back winning the set 25-22. The second and third sets were basically the same story, but in Allen's favor this time. They got out to an early lead and in both sets the Pirates made a great comeback but were unable to close the gap before they reached 25. After sweeping the floor because of all the bugs (which had been there for both previous games and all three sets of our first game) the ladies took the floor for the fourth set. We fought hard but ending up losing the fourth as well 25-15.
"Allen was a good team but we knew we could stay with them. We came out hard in the first set and didn't give up." said senior, Caitlin Casey.
Even though they didn't have that many wins the Lady Pirates had fun and gave it there all every night. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us throughout the season. We appreciate it a lot and hope to see you at basketball.
