Sub-Districts 2009
The Lady Pirates came out hard against Omaha Nation and fought hard to get to the second round of sub-districts. They defeated the Chiefs in three straight sets: 17-25, 4-25, 1-25.
"We knew we had to come out and play hard and that it wasn't going to get handed to us. We played hard and came out on top," says Senior, Alexa Heeney.
In the first set we struggled a little on our serves, but then we shook that off and did a lot of good things to make up for it. The second set we had managed to keep our opponent under 10 points. Jenna Roeber did an amazing job serving, with 20 attempts, 19 good, and 7 aces just in that Second set. Throughout this game one of our strong points was our hitting. Caitlin Casey had 18 attempts, 13good, and 5 kills. Marisa Blanke with 8 attempts, 7 good, and 3 kills. Alexa Heeney had 7 attempts, 7 good, and 4 kills, and Brittni Bormann had 6 attempts, 4 good, and 4 kills. The Lady Pirates had a ton of great passes through out all three sets. The Emerson-Hubbard Lady Pirates won against the Omaha Nation Lady Chiefs and moved on the second round of sub-districts were they would take on the Allen Lady Eagles.
