Volleyball
The Lady Pirates started the season off good. They had 6 returning players and there were a lot of new people on the 76-77 volleyball team. The coach was Porter. The Lady Pirates started the season with a first place win in the Winside Tournament and got 2nd place in the West Husker Conference.

Football
The Pirates ended there season with a 6-2 record. The past couple years they didn't have the best team but this year they came out going hard.
The All Conference award was given out to Bob Stenwall, Russ Ruchser, Keith Bowder, Terry Albrecht, Bill Elsasser, Gene Mari, Mick Fuchser, and Max Loetscher.
Girls Basketball
The Varsity Girls Basketball team had a new coach this. Their coach was Paul Mestl. Their record this season was 4-7. This was the first year the Piratettes competed in the conference and district tournaments.

Boys Basketball
The Pirates started the season off good with the returning of 7 seniors. At the Conference tournament the guys met undefeated Madison for the second time, but they kept there heads up and kept going hard though out the game.

Boys Track
Unlike Basketball, Volleyball, and Football, Track is an individual sport. This year 4 boys qualified for state they were: Bill Hayes in the mile, Terry Albrecht in the 180 yd. low hurdles and the long jump, Jeff Utemark in the pole vault, and
Girls Track
The girls although not as successful as the boys were, they had a successful season. Val Birkley won second in the mile at districts and qualified for state competition. With all the hard work will look goof for the future.
Pep Club
The Pep Club is also part of the season. The Pep Club always has a smile no matter if it was a win or a loss.

Cheerleaders
The cheerleaders start there practicing in the spring and take it through the summer so there ready in fall. The cheerleaders are the leaders of the school spirit.
The Varsity cheerleaders are: Wendy Koopman, Emily Lamp, Kathy Tullberg, Jane Fuchser, Val Birkley, Rita Dorcey, Shelly Ough.
The Junior Varisty cheerleaders are: Vanessa Heitzman, Beth Hartnett, Deb Stanton, Charlene Brown
Organization:
FFA
This year in FFA many people did well. Doug Roeber was awarded first place in the Pender Pork Producer's contest and Myron Voss placed first at the Columbus Invitational.
Band
The stage band had a fantastic year after receiving a first place award at the music contest they also placed second in the Jazz Festival at Midland. The Sax Sextet received a 3 at Music Contest, the Brass Quartet was given a 2 for their efforts, the mixed woodwind quintet received a top rating, and the clarinet trio received a 1 for their effort.
Vocal Music
Some members are: J. Hale, B. Hayes, R. Fuchser, K. Bowder, C. Brown, D. Mahler, D. Heeney, B. Elasser, R. BOdlak, M. Crom, M. Sebade, L. Sebade, L. Tullberg, D. Brown.
Bill Hughes received a superior rating on his vocal solo at contest. The boys Quartet received a three for there efforts at contest. Tom Henderson received a good for his solo. The boys Octet received a two. The girls glee received two and Jim Watkins received a two also at Music Contest.
Prom
On May 7th the Juniors presented the seniors with Prom 1977. The theme was" You and Me Against the World". After a delicious meal the waiters and waitresses presented them with "The New Dog Show". The dance followed afterwards.
"In Memory"
During his Junior High career Joe Casey passed away. The annual staff of 76-77 has dedicated the entire Junior High section to Joe's Memory.
