E-H Lady P's vs Laurel

The Lady Pirates came back from their 5 day Christmas break to face Laurel in the opening round of the Northeast Nebraska Shootout in Wayne. This tournament is always a little bit sloppy for all teams with the long break and not being able to practice. Despite that the girls came out strong and went into halftime with the lead, 19-17. It was neck and neck the whole second half but the Lady Pirates went on to win their 5th straight game 39-30.
Alexa Heeney led the way in points, scoring a season high 22. She also had the most rebounds with 13. Leading on assists for the night was Brittni Bormann with 4. Bormann also added 7 points. Caitlin Casey and Marisa Blanke had the most steals with 6 each.
