Pirates lose to Pierce

The Pirates lost to Pierce in a 43-38 game in Emerson on January 16. AJ Bormann was the leading rebounder with a total of 7, while Derick Lux and Max Renning grabbed three rebounds each. Scott Servine and Max Renning were cited for their defensive efforts in the contest.
The Pirates outscored Pierce 13 to 8 in the first quarter and went into halftime leading 22 to 19. The Blue Jays outscored the Pirates in the second half to win the game. AJ Bormann had this to say on the game, "we played really good defense, but we missed too many shots on offense."
Austin Gutzmann went 5 for 8 on field goals to be point leader with 10. Scott Servine and Bormann chipped in 9 each. Derick Lux put in 5. Max Renning and Trent Stork rounded out the Pirate scoring effort with 3 and 2 respectively.
