First Round - Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament

The Lady Pirates went into the first round of the conference tournament as the number 4 seed Saturday, January 30th, against Walthill. They played good defense and were aggressive on offense to come out with the win 62-31.

"We had a little trouble starting off the game. It felt really slow to begin with, but then we picked it up as the game went on."says senior Alexa Heeney.

Leading scorer was Brittni Bormann with 17 points. She also had 3 assists. Alexa Heeney had 14 points, Caitlin Casey and Marisa Blanke both had 8, Justine Sebade had 5, Brittany Pallas and Haley Koopman both had 3, and Sam Hogan and Jenna Roeber both had 2. The big lead gave everyone a chance to get some more experience on the varsity floor.

Leading rebounder was Justine Sebade with 9. Brittany Pallas had 5 steals. Caitlin Casey had 7 assists and 5 steals. Marisa Blanke had 5 assists.

The ladies will advance to the next round to take on Osmond.
