The Tri County Northeast Cross Country program enters year two having gained valuable experiences from its inaugural season in 2022.
The squads are coached by Dave Uldrich and Joe Kvidera.
The girls’ squad will have four members, while the boys will have two members.
All four of the girl team members were members in 2022. Senior, Shantel Miller, junior Bre Millard, and sophomores Alejandra Hermosillo and Jenni Olson. Hermosillo just missed qualifying for the state meet last season by 3 seconds.
Senior, Rhyanne Mackling is currently sidelined, recovering from an ACL injury last year, and most likely will not get to run a meet this year. Mackling qualified for the state meet as a junior.
Two new faces are the boys’ squad. Sophomores Alex Snyder and Sean Lawrence have taken up the interest and are going to compete. Both boys seem eager to give this new endeavor a try.
Now that the girls have experience, the expectation will be to continue improvements made over the 2022 season. The boys will need baseline times to work from, but the expectation of weekly
improvement will be the number one goal.
COACHES COMMENTS:
“The coaches are ready to see how we will respond to having a full summer to prepare. Last year we started practice with no preparations and progressed nicely. Hopefully, summer work by the athletes will allow them to improve even more this season. The coaches appreciate the athletes for taking on this challenge. Now that we have accumulated experience and knowledge, expectations should be higher.”
