Coaches Comments:
My initial thoughts are “Wow! We have some hard workers and go-getters!” Friday during practice the kids were handed their normal event sheet including their personal bests, or as we called them ‘our goals and then some.’ Many of them came into the Lewis & Clark Conference meet sitting in the top 8 or within reach if they could better their marks. There were personal bests as big as 9 feet in the throws, 1 foot in the jumps, and seconds in the running to as little as half inch in the field events and .01 seconds in the running. The Pack totaled 26 personal bests on the day, including two Lewis and Clark Conference records.
Maddie Franzluebbers was the stand out in the throws picking up two Conference Championships, a 2 ½ foot best in the shot put, and 2 Lewis and Clark records. The other conference record was a nice surprise from the boys 4x100 relay consisting of Knox Lamp, Tucker Anderson, James Kneifl, and Logan Kraemer running a 54.63. The relay came in sitting 5th in a field of 10 and finished .03 seconds faster than the Bloomfield squad to clinch the gold!
Other top three finishes included Logan Kraemer in the triple jump (3rd: 32-01), Hailey Millard in the 200 meter hurdles (3rd- 35.26), and both boys (3rd- 4:31.83) and girls (3rd- 5:08.99) 4x400 teams. Overall, the Pack picked up 19 medals and finished 8th in the girls teams race with 44 points and 7th in the boys teams race with 39 points.
