Emerson-Hubbard Community Schools

The Tri County Northeast girl and boy track teams performed very well at the C-4 district meet in Hartington on Thursday.  As a result, six athletes qualified for the state meet.

Bre Millard had a banner day, qualifying in three events, while the 4X100 relay claimed a district crown.  Bryan Isom and Jackson Belt led the boys’ efforts in the triple jump and high jump.

What was more remarkable were the efforts made by the athletes that did not qualify or maybe did not place during the day.  A coach’s challenge of 21 personal best efforts were given, and the team responded by hitting the target at the meet.

COACHES COMMENTS:

“Unbelievable efforts today!  Almost every athlete on the squad did something amazing.  Everyone accepted the challenge to beat their personal best efforts today, and they did!  Congratulations to the state qualifiers for holding up under tremendous competition.  The coaching staff are very proud of the entire team for putting it out there today, and finishing stronger than when they started the season.  Our hope is that everyone will return next season to challenge themselves even more!  Thanks for a tremendous finish to the season and GOOD LUCK TO THE STATE QUALIFIERS!”
