The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack traveled to the Indian Trails Golf Course at Beemer to compete in a 27-school invitational meet on September 5th.

The competition was very good, and the Wolfpack performed exceptionally well against it, plus the course itself.  The course features a hill in the middle of the race called, “Dead Man’s Hill”.

The girls’ team started the day with two very good medalist performances.  Alejandra Hermosillo placed 12th in the 83-girl field, with a 24.15.7 clocking.  A year ago, Hermosillo managed the course in 26:04.  Bre Millard was right behind posting a 15th place finish in a time of 24:18.9.  That too was a marked improvement over 2023 when Millard posted a 28:32 time.  Neither girl earned a place in 2023.

Jenni Olson, Hailey Millard and Chloe Peters finished 65th, 66th, and 67th respectively posting times of 30:19.2, 30:19.4, and 30:33.6.

In the boys’ division, 103 boys competed, with sophomore Jude Ridenour posted a run of 20:45.9, good for 21st just one second from a medalist slot.  Alex Snyder had one of the best runs of his career, as he was clocked in 21:25.4.  That time was good for 31st place.  Devon Lewellen finished 56th but continued developing consistency and time improvement as he was clocked in 22:56.8.

The next action scheduled for the Wolfpack will be Thursday, September 12th at Laurel.  The scheduled starting time is 4:00.

COACHES COMMENTS:

“The team’s overall performance was better than the first week and a marked improvement over this course from comparing to the 2023 season.  The effort laid out today was noticeable and it was appreciated.  The growth of the athletes in competition was visible.  The team is a work in progress and will continue to learn individually how to overcome doubt, condition individually, and embrace challenge.  Good Job Teams!”
