The Tri County Northeast Girl’s cross-country team earned runner-up honors behind Oakland-Craig on Thursday at Stanton, medaling three girls along the way.
Leading the Wolfpack was Rhyanne Mackling with a fourth-place effort. Mackling was clocked in 22:40, just short of her season best time. Alejandra Hermosillo earned an 11th place medal running 24:24, also just short of a season best mark. Bre Millard rounded out the medalists, clocking 25:10 and earning 17th place.
Shantel Miller finished 30th in 28:34. Jenny Olson clocked a 30:28.
Lone boy runner, Gabe Franklin finished 58th in an 80-boy field with a 23:45 clocking.
Next on the schedule for the Wolfpack will be the Lewis & Clark Conference meet at the Rolling Hills Country Club at Wausa.
COACHES COMMENTS:
“We did not run any personal best times today, but gusting winds and some nagging physical issues may have played a part in the times. We did though, work through them and competed well. We are a definite work in progress, but now the time is here for the work to start showing bigger and even better results. Congratulations on a runner-up team effort!”
